Important Things to Remember When Posting Content

Social Media postingThere is so much advice out there sometimes it’s hard to tell what is right. I want to share with you what I believe is important to know when posting. Here are some tips that will help you move forward with your marketing on Social Media in 2018.

1.   Not All Content Goes Everywhere.  So before I share the next two tips it is important to know where you should place content. Not everything goes on on Linkedin or Twitter. Not everything goes on Instagram. So here are my rules of thumb on what goes where and I hope this helps. So on Facebook, you should post videos and content with pictures. On Instagram high-resolution photos, quote photos or stories. Linkedin is for jobs and company news and professional content and reaching out and making appointments. Twitter is for blog posts and news and GIFs. YouTube is for videos only. Pinterest is for step by step photo guides. Google+ is for ranking your blog posts so definitely put them there.

2.  What are you trying to achieve from the post?  Are you trying to gain exposure for your brand? Do you want to attract some leads? Are you looking to interact more? Whatever your reasons for posting make sure you sit down with a pad and pen and figure that out for your specific business. 

3.  Consider how often you want to post. I suggest 1 or 2 times per day per social media platform. Some of my clients want less and some want more. You decide then do it. The key is once you decide stick to it.
